Here is a site with some photos of the large, curious-looking sea forts used by the British during WWII. As you can see, they look worn as they stand on their stilts.http://www.utata.org/project/uppj6/item/560824521/
Very interesting. I knew about the Mulberry's (who has not heard of those) but I did not know of these sea based AA installations. I have been to some of the coastal defense forts in Washington state, but they are nothing like these. Very cool find.

well I hate to admit it, but I never had heard of these. Strange looking structures.
