Apparently the Arizona lawmakers have had enough of the Federal failures to control illegal immigrationthrough their state.  There is a law, in what phase I am not sure, that proposes that police officers can, if suspicious, stop people to ascertain their immigration status.  If those stopped lack the appropriatedocuments, they can be arrested.  Now this confuses me.  It was my impression that matters governingimmigration were a Federal matter.  I know the dreaded and less than esteemed Homeland Security Department has deputized some state officials, but the authority remained Federal.  Under the Arizona law,as I understand it, this deputization is no longer necessary.  Section 8, clause 4 of Article 1 of the Constitution would seem to support my argument as does clause 18 of the same section.  having worked on the border in Arizona, I can fully appreciate the frustration, but has not the state gone a lurch too far?In passing:  Is anyone in the forum aware of the treasure that awaits visitors to Archer City, Texas?
