Maybe “Pro-Jewish” is the wrong term, but I hope you understand what I mean. Basically, I'm asking if political Israel is synonymous with Judaism.
I would say the two are not synonymous.

Yes, I think that Judaism is about religions and Israel is about a state. However, aren't people who are opposed to Israel sometimes also called “anti-Semitic”? I feel like I've heard that before.
I've heard of this as well. I think that those who criticise the existence of Israel as a state, are considered as part of a “new antisemitism”; even if for some critics this “new antisemitism” is also used as “exploiting antisemitism in order to silence debate and to deflect attention from legitimate criticism of the State of Israel”
Ok, that makes sense. Using sympathy for legitimate grievances for separate, but related, causes, seems to be an approach used by some in the present age.
