I wonder why the seller would go through an auction like ebay rather than a reputable auctioneer for higher priced items….perhaps Sotheby's or Christie's.

Good question, I would think those places would attract the kind of buyers who would have that kind of money.
I'm guessing that unusual items like the Kennedy's shirt show up on eBay for the publicity. If a couple of news stories come out then likely buyers might get word.
Good point, think of the traffic this site would get if Phid could set up an auction for something like that.
Yeah, that's all we need…..we'd have spiders bidding against spammers for prized historical memorabilia, lol. 😉
