ParticipantI was looking up the source of a quote today and came across this one from amost unlikely source.
Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels – men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion. Dwight D. Eisenhower
It would be well for someof the people in America today on both sides of the political spectrum to remember this advice. The emphasis is mine.

TR is one of my favorite historical figures

ParticipantI too am a fan of TR (mostly) but remember he was one of the great Progressive lights. 😮

ParticipantI have always thought TR is one of the least appreciated presidents.

ParticipantTrue; his progressive bent was far less intrusive on the average citizen than Wilson and later liberals.
