You mean you had planned on going back and writing the source of the citation later on? I heard someone talk about that not too long ago…the story was that a person did this on some graduate paper (maybe a dissertation) and couldn't remember what the source was for a section or sections, and I think the person eventually couldn't use that material in the paper. Bummer.
No more shortcuts. Good, organized notes are OK though. “Cite 1 is this source, pg number”. To address your question on CL: I think she was crying in happiness or out of massive thankfulness and love because her sins were forgiven by the Man whose feet she was washing.
…or you can just write the source in as you go. After you've written the first source in you don't need to write the full source name of each subsequent citation….an “ibid” or “Author x, supra, at 10” works wonders. And you should almost have modified the CL boards to allow for guest posting across them all....then you could have posted there under any number of pseudonyms, right? ;D
