Hi, I'm new here and new to American history.I'm sure this topic has been done before, but I have some questions about specific books.Do you have an opinion of "American History Survey" by Alan Brinkley?I have an old book I bought for about a dollar called "The American Experience" by Henry Bamford Parkes. It was published in 1947. Anyone know of this book, its relevance and significance? What books do you recommend? I prefer text books, but I'll consider other books. I'd like read an American history book, from early America to at least the industrial revolution, and focuses mainly on the political and economic aspects, but also religion and philosophy of early America is good. And one more thing ;DWhat are essential philosophy books I should read from early America or at least relevant to america? Thanks.
