I was watching something on the History Channel this evening about a fortress in Edinburgh. They mentioned something about American sailors (pre-Navy) who sailed off the coast of Britain with the intent of firing on coastal cities. Anyone know anything about this? I didn't realize that there was any American offensive during the Revolutionary War. The show said that a number of captured American sailors were imprisoned in teh fortress that was shown in the show.
