Check this column out from George F. Will. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/21/AR2008052102428.html?sub=new I think he paints a plausible and scary scenario here. i know that I am continually frustrated at the ways in which Government attempts to controlk my actions. I have often made the argument that America is one of the most unfree free countries in the world. Don't misunderstand, I love my country, it just saddens me to see all the people that are convinced they know how I should live my life better than I do. Can anyone imagine the people of America 150 years ago putting up with the levelk of regulation that exists in this country today. The state has gone so far as to tell you what kind of use you can make out of your land. They can even take it and give it to another private individual or organization now (See the 2005 Kelo decisiopn in the Supreme Court).Anyway, I just thought this was a great piece.By the way, I will be off the board this weekend, I am taking my fanily to Galveston to the Beach. I am visiting the Sna Jacinto Battlefield and USS Texas too. If I get any good photos I will upload them somewhere and provide the link.
One thing with this polar bear thing, didn't the experts refute the claims that they were an endangered species a while ago? I don't get why this is coming back in the news again.I know my incredibly Liberal Sen. Jack Reed is in on this too. Hey, Reed, why don't you do something about the illegal immigrants in this state instead of being concerned with polar bears.Have a good weekend vacation, Patrick. I'll be finalizing a paper and studying for the final this weekend. :-Ken
