Watched this movie last night. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280491/Very realistically done without the usual Hollywood makeover, sometimes hard to understand the dialogue because the Irish accents were thick and the scenes were quite busy (but I think it was meant to be that way). It was edited to look like a documentary, and in that they succeeded. I had to keep telling myself this was just a movie. Not too much one-sided, but was somewhat slanted towards the republicans. However, I think the portrayal of British troops and authorities was fairly accurate. Very tense lead up to the parade from both sides, and the massacre scenes felt like you were watching live coverage on the news. Recommend it to anyone.
Thanks. I didn't know about that movie. I might have to see it.
Ski,Wouls you be interested in some pictures of the Irish Brigade Monument that is on the field at Gettysburg? It is a fairly new monument, I think it was erected in 2002, and is fairly distinctive because of its use of the Celtic cross.
Yeah, I'd like to see that. I need to learn more about the Irish in America.
Which e-mail should I send them to? school or personal? I think I only have your school e-mail.
