Just got my taxes back so I figured I'd help some Amazon employees have job security.Just bought:-Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics - been wanting to read this for some time. Plus I might be taking an Ancient Western Phiolosophy class soon, so I'll get a head start-Thucydides, History of the Peloponnesian War - Wanted a smaller version with just the Thucydides. I have the Landmark Thucydides, but that's kinda too big to carry around.-Plutarch, On Sparta - I'm most excited about this one because I'm fascinated with Sparta. -Paul Cartledge, The Spartans: The World of the Warrior-Heroes of Ancient Greece - Have no idea what this will be like. I've read some of Paul Cartledge work and he's not too bad.-Donald Kagan, The Archidamian War - this is the second volume of Kagan's 4-volume academic masterpiece on the Peloponnesian War.-Mary Beard, The Parthenon - saw this in a library and it's awesome! Has lots of photographs and detailed drawings. She explains each frieze and each scene, and how and why it was built like it was. Plus Beard is my goto authority on Greek archaeology at the moment. It will be my tour book when I visit the Parthenon. ;D-John R. Alden, A History Of The American Revolution - don't know about this book either, but AMU uses it in their American Revolution course. And it was only one cent.
I hope you have time to read all that 😮 but it should be fun. I studied philosophy in college, including the Nicomachean Ethics, and so I don't recall it. I'm guessing that is the same Mary Beard that we were referring to a month or two ago.
I'd really like to, but things are tough all over right now. Athens is still rioting, plus I need to seriously save for it. If not Greece then somewhere in Europe. Wouldn't mind exploring Britain and the British Museum or see a major rugby or soccer match at Twikenham or Millenium Stadium after hiking on Hadrian's Wall.
I have the Nichomachian Ethics and never really got a chance to read it. I glanced through it and it is not light reading I can tell you. You might also get Aristotle and Xenophon on the Athenian Constitution. Also, check out Plotinus the Enneads.

Already read those. My copy of Politics has the Athenian Constution in it, then I got Xenophon online. A tough read was Metaphysics! Yikes.Vulture, thanks, I'll check that out too. (and sit next to someone attractive while reading it)
