Could you all please recommend some good books for the two topics mentioned above? History of the American Revolution by John AldenAmateurs to Arms by John EltingWar of 1812 by Henry Adamsare 3 books used in the respective courses at AMU. Not sure if I'm taking these classes, so I'm going to check them out.Any others? Are there any good ones centering on the Revolutionary War in New England?
Sorry, I checked my spreadsheet out and of my 600+ military history books I don't have a single one that is focused on the Revolution or War of 1812. I don't know if that is curious or not.

Wow I am impressed by the size of your library. Mine is a very small fraction of that (seriously...the number of books in my field that I own is probably not more than 20). Then again, when I was getting my Masters I made a decision to go the library/inter-library loan route, so this may be why I don't own as many books. In fact, I should try selling some of my books on Amazon or eBay just to get some cash...
Phid, I own so many books because Army library's are horrible unless you are into American History.Ski,Because I am not into American History is why I dont have any. I have plenty of books on WWI and WWII and even the Civil War and Vietnam War from High Shcool but none on the Revolution or 1812. The Revolution because there were really only 3 or 4 battles worthy of the name and the War of 1812 because it was a sideshow compared to happenings in Europe. Mostly what the War of 1812 showed was American military incompetence.I will accept the blame. 🙂
