Interesting graphic that puts the name of the country with the equivalent GDP of the state. If this is accurate, I'd say form the looks of things, we're doing pretty good here!http://strangemaps.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/350816052_0a392a0d28_o1.jpghttp://strangemaps.wordpress.com/2007/06/10/131-us-states-renamed-for-countries-with-similar-gdps/
Very cool map, nice graphic. It puts some things into perspective…including marxism and global warming. Lets hope that any push for a “carbon tax” dies very quickly.
That map was fascinating! You guys always find the most interesting sites online.

How so?
It seems that if your average European nation's GDP is roughly the same as some Midwestern state then tapping the entire United States with some global tax would be a lucrative way of getting money to fund their initiatives. Also, if the United States is that far ahead in GDP then a Marxist could very well argue that the American states deserve less and those with lower GDPs deserve more.
Very salient point Phid. I am simply opposed to a carbon tax on principle. I think it is just another creative mechanism for the transfer of wealth, much like any other socialist scheme.
