I don't think everyone's mind is made up yet. Sure, all of our minds are made up, but there are wishy-washy people who either aren't sure or are prone to changing their minds. Even if it's only a few million people, it could still sway the election.

That is my thinking as well. They only have to sway the minds of enough people. I would guess that only about 6% of the population does not already know how they will vote and many of the decided knew before the campaign even started.
Observations on the VP debate:Biggest thing; what is up with Biden laughing at Ryan all the time? Biden comes off as extremely arrogant and preachy. Best commentary on the debate “There’s a way to disagree with your opponent without acting like a jerk,”, Biden did indeed act like a jerk and a bully. He was completely unreasonable.1.Biden opens trying to make the case that Obama is tough on national security, but ends it with a statement of what I call cowardice; Ryan got the best of this exchange I think by calling a duck a duck and calling the admin. on their spinning the attack in Libya.2.Was the moderator in the tank for Biden? It sure looks like it, either that or she was monumentally unsuited to moderating a debate.3.Joe Biden - “The most crippling sanctions in the history of sanctions” and he has eaten the best ice cream ever made too. 4.At 21:58 Biden pulled out the blame Bush card, minus 10 points for being stupid.5.Biden broadcast to the Taliban that if they wait until 2014 they can have free rein under an Obama administration because we have had enough. I bet Mullah Omar would vote Obama if he could.6.I thought Biden was insincere when talking about abortion and Ryan made a good case.7.Lastly, I thought Ryan made a better case for economic reform than Biden did for staying the Obama course. In general I thought the debate favored Ryan but Biden did his best to make Ryan appear inexperienced and foolish. I think Biden failed at that though and only made himself look condescending.
Overall I thought Ryan did a better job but I thought that Biden did generally what he was probably tasked with doing: make Obama/Biden appear assertive and make Romney/Ryan go on the defensive. This has more to do with style than substance, but I think this is one of the main reasons for debates. Any side which looks unprepared, which does not have an answer, looks like the “unpresidential” side. With that said, although Biden did the things I mentioned above, he did so in a way that came across as arrogant, condescending, and downright un-vice presidential. I feel that Biden was given a task to do by the Obama campaign and that he went in with over-kill. The smiling, laughing, and interrupting will help it go down as one of the most memorable (in a bad way) of all VP debates in recent American memory.
Read a commentary that went something like this. What would you do if you were in a professional business meeting and someone started acting like Biden?I would probably demote or fire the guy (or send him for drug testing) These clowns are toast and I predict a landslide for Romney.
when even Scott Pelley can no longer cover for him (but he sure tried…the media is at the point of being a joke now, a dangerous joke), it's over for the One.
I agree with Donnie – I'm cautiously optimistic, but this is long from over. As a matter of fact, it's still an uphill climb for Romney. I believe he still needs Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and I think it's a dead heat in two of those.
