If so, let me know and I will be on the first thing smoking that will get over the Atlantic. I may live in Europe now but that is only until my son finishes school. I have no desire to spend the rest of my life living in the over-regulated European nanny-state and I certainly have no intention of standing by while the US goes down that road.I don't think the US is that bad off yet though. Hence my insistence that we need to put as many tea party adherents into Congress, it is certain that we can;t put one into the White House this year. I think we have no choiuce but to tolerate Romney for four years and keep up the pressure on our legislators to restrain his inherent leftness. The fact that Romney is not the best does not mean we should then throw up our hands and walk away. Unless and until the majority of Americans are rady to restore the Tree of Liberty in the traditional manner, we have no choice but to try to change the country using the system in place. It is not unachievable, the Liberals have made a lot of change in the past 70 years, why can't conservatives reverse some of that change the same way?

Both sides stink... There has to be a radical shift for any of this to right itself.. but I fear that since the two party system has more or less be the de facto standard for over 150 years of our existence I can't see that changing. Even those who fall outside of the two party system are no help because most of them are mad as hatters... They have some good ideas, but those are overshadowed by their insanity...Personally, and I really hate to say this, I think America is slowly going the way of the Roman Empire... it'll have a brief gasp of air and then will fade into oblivion. America is not mentioned at all in eschatology, so I suspect in the end we'll be just another country that has come and gone. I love this country... but it is rapidly morphing into an ugly monster....

What is the first thing they would do? Perhaps they would have regretted not being more specific in their words? I realize that our Founding Fathers did a pretty good job at designing our Constitution, and that there is no such thing as a "perfect" founding document. However, it seems that if America falls, it will be because it is breaking at the seams. Federal power has expanded under the wording of the Commerce Clause, religious freedom has been curtailed under the Establishment Clause...all because justices have put their own spin on interpreting Constitutional phrases. If there were more guidance in the Constitution, perhaps we wouldn't have such awful interpretations which have helped destroy our Republic.
I think the Founding Fathers would be saddened by the current condition of our nation, but I don't know if they would have been appalled. They knew how risky it would be to keep a Republic.
Alexander Hamilton would probably be smiling right now because our nation today is closer to what he envisioned…minus having a king, though the presidency is pretty much a monarchy now.
The biggest question is whether the current situation in America is reversible? I think so but we have to not only get Obama out of office, we need a significant Tea Party presence in both houses of congress. The most important results this November will be those for congressional seats, not the presidential election.

Well Bloomberg has a new national poll out and Obama leads Romney 53 to 40. I'm going on record now saying I expect Obama to win. Romney just doesn't energize the GOP base and unless he finds a way to use the Obamacare ruling as a springboard, he's toast.

I'm going on record saying that you should rename yourself "Donnie Downer". 😀 Ok, so actually I hope - for the sake of the Republic - that that does not happen, and at this point I have seen other polls which lean more in Romney's favor. I have heard it said that undecided voters will be likely to swing Romney's way.I do agree that Romney has to energize the base more. He needs to call Obamacare a tax.
