You know how Bill Clinton is sometimes (often) the “first black president”? Apparently it originated from the black author Toni Morrison. In a Time interview, she gives the reason as to why she said this:
I was deploring the way in which President Clinton was being treated, vis-?-vis the sex scandal that was surrounding him. I said he was being treated like a black on the street, already guilty, already a perp. I have no idea what his real instincts are, in terms of race.
10 Questions for Toni MorrisonThis is very interesting since the phrase is now thrown around as a kind of complement to Clinton for his relationship to the African American community. But that originally had nothing to do with it. It was supposed to refer to a kind of shortcoming in regards to the public reaction against him.
That's funny, because Hillary just mentioned the past few days that she wins the “hard working WHITE vote.”One would almost think they're playing the race card.

They'll play every card in the deck, and then some, if it will get they think it will get her the nomination. God help us all if their bovine generated organic additive works!
And Obama could be the first female presidenthttp://www.suntimes.com/news/marin/942771,CST-EDT-carol11.article
If Bill Clinton was once considered America's first black president, Obama may one day be viewed as our first woman president. While Clinton, the warrior, battles on, talks about toughness, and out loud considers nuking Iran, it is Obama who is full of feminine virtues.
Uh, yeah…I wonder if he'll go touting that designation when he's out campaigning. :-X
