I am watching news about the shootings in Fort Hood yesterday and have to say that I am disgusted both by the shootings and the way the news is characterizing it.The excuses for the gunman are already starting, he was harassed, he had secondary PTSD from talking to combat vets, he was fighting his upcoming deployment and frustrated. The news is doing everyhting to paint this as anything but possibly religiously or ideologically motivated. Do people in America really believe that the average Muslim is some cuddly tolerant individual that discounts everything intolerant regarding infidels in the Koran? ??? ??? When are we in the west going to really confront the idea that Islam itself is the problem? It is an intolerant religion whose adherents feel that they are duty bound to impose their religion on the world. the decline of the west continues with this event and the way the media is portraying it.
Why are people afraid to admit that Islam is the Problem? ??? There are no comparable Christian or Jewish attacks ongoing that compare to the unprovoked violence by Muslims against westerners. I am left with the conlcusion that Islam is in fact the problem. It is not the Religion of Peace that its apologists would have us believe, its adherents continue to perpetrate unprovoked attacks aginst innocent people. Attacking soldiers in a war-zone is one thing, attacking people, even soldiers, at their home station where they pose no immediate threat is entirely different.Dr. Hanson has a good piece about this today where he brings up some cogent points. Sacrificing Americans I am left to wonder if we as a society are really willing to accept such attacks in the spirit of tolerance. One would think that eventually we will decide that enough is enough. When will we reach that point and how many innocents have to die?
I think while Major Hasan is hospitalized that he might need some special medical treatment. I think a transfusion of pig blood followed by a bacon grease enema would be appropiate.
Apparently, he is paralyzed and his lawyer is ten different kinds of upset about how unfairly he is being treated. Alleged Ft. Hood gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan paralyzed and may never walk again, lawyer says. There is a poll on the page asking if he should get the death penalty, 83% say yes. What most people don?t know is that the military has not executed somebody since 1963 and probably won?t execute him in any reasonable amount of time if he is convicted. If they are serious they would hand him over to the Bell County prosecutor, I think the average stay on death row in Texas is something around 5 years.I can?t wait to hear all the excuses that will surround this guy, and I would guess the issue of Jihadism will be tiptoed around because of political sensitivity. I fear justice will not be done in this case out of a flawed sense of humanism. Why is it that the victims of crimes are forgotten in the rush to protect the rights of the perpetrator?
Today's military is the most politically correct institution in the United States. The COS's hand wringing immediately after the shootings testifies to that if nothing else does.
More is coming out that this guy was at least a fellow travelr of Al-qaeda and had committted himself to Jihad. Major Hasan's E-Mail: 'I Can't Wait to Join You' in Afterlife . but of course, i must be some kind of zealot to blame his religion, he must have been stressed out from listening to all those stories of horrible things and decided to vent his frustrations through mass-murder. Islam is the Religion of Peace after all. ::)
Just because he wears Islam clothes, said Allah Akbar when he killed American soldiers, has called al Qaeda, and strongly expressed his hatred for America doesn't mean he's bad. What would your CIC think? ::)Let's not jump to conclusions now, scout. He could simply be a Democrat.
Yes, I suppose he could, there is not much essential difference between Islamic terrorists and Democrats; both want to destroy the America we grew up in. What sad times we live in indeed when we are beset by enemies from within and without.
... not much essential difference between Islamic terrorists and Democrats; both want to destroy the America we grew up in. What sad times we live in indeed when we are beset by enemies from within and without.
I disagree on the first point but not the latter or the conclusion. Islamo-terrorists are the type that hate America and Americans for being different without malice; we really don't care if we are different (or they are) as long as we (and they are) allowed (life, liberty, etc., etc.) to be. They hate what we are and what we do and will until they can somehow force us back into the Middle Ages... the sandbox they profess to want to live in.Certain Democrats (those that seem to be in power or attempting to be) are Marxist-Leninist types that want to remake America. That is to say they want to play on the brand name of America but to redirect the business model; they want the world to think of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and the rest but at the nuts and bolts level to run on the Marx-Engles market plan.Currently am reading SuperFreakonomics and conclude that the current leadership does not understand the incentives that we (the people) really want; either they are ignorant, think we are, and either way (most likey) don't care.
My main point point is that for both Democrats and Islamists good enough for us is not good enough for them. Yes the Democrats want to remake America along socialist lines while the Islamists would like to see America destroyed, but in the end of either gets what they want America will not look the same. The Democrats have been trying to socialize America for 80 years the Islamists have been going for about 30 it looks like it is turning into a race to see who will succeed. If the Democrats have their way the Islamists will eventually win because they will then capitulate to the Islamists on the grounds of diversity.It is like the first words out of our leaderships mouth after Hasan's attack; not concern for the victim but concern for the assailant and his fellow traveler's. That is backward. Americans are not about to go on a rampage randomly attacking Muslims living in the states. That is the same attitude that led DHS to blamelessly indict veterans this spring as being destabilizing agents and potential terrorists. I have seen several news stories that equate Hasan to McVeigh although apart from their both being military at some point where are the similarities? McVeigh was a sovereign citizen type and Hasan is a Muslim. Can you get much farther apart ideologically than that? I doubt it.It is getting more interesting all the time to see how this Hasan prosecution is playing out. He certainly got a big enough weasel for a lawyer. The amount of loathing this Galloway clown must have for the military he served is breathtaking if he can stoop to defending somebody as odious as Hasan. BTW, is there a weasel smiley, that would be perfect for lawyers?
The religion of Peace:Egypt Muslims burn Christian shops: police, and the accused in police custody. And America's leadership says we need to be careful about Americans attacking Muslims right? I am glad to see their worry is in the right place. Obviously Muslims always wait to let justice run its course unlike us reactionary, racist Americans who just want to lynch the guy and all his fellow religious without trial. Muslims would never do anything like that would they? ???{Sarcasm fully intended}
