This came from a US District attorney in Vegas. Vegas paper gets subpoena to ID online commenters Makes me wonder if we do really need to start worrying about what we write and post online. It is obvious that some members of the justice department dont believe in anonymous FREE speech. It is not a very far leap from criminalizing acts based on hate to criminalizing words/thought based on hate or that the government deems tastless, inappropriate or insert reason here. Maybe Orwell's vision is just going to come true thirty years later.I think the slippery slope started years ago with the introduction of hatecrimes legislation.

I blame the media the most...they're getting Fascistly scary. example: apparently Obama swatted a fly at a press conference yesterday. As of 7:30 EST today it is on the front page of CNN, MSNBC, FOX, IHT, BBC, Times UK, and Telegraph UK. Something is seriously wrong here. ???
CNN international had a huge story on Obama vs the Fly. I had to laugh at the absurdity of this passing for news.

That is the rub, what speech are they going to make illegal. the left already has the tyrrany of Political Correctness, what is to stop them from legislating PC speech? We know the libs would love to bury us under regulations. All for our own good of course. 😉 They only want what is best for ALL Americans, except they get to decide what is best.

They are willfully complicit with the erosion of liberties under the current Adminstration. How much stuff is getting by us under the radar? I know I dont have the time to read the Federal Register, though I do occasionally scan it since it is available online here Federal Register Online. Apparently the press that is supposed to help safeguard freedom by providing objective news does not think that is a worthy role anymore. The are too busy writing puff pieces about Michelle Obama's clothes or B.H. Obama swatting flies to justify me spending a dime reading their garbage. What is happening in the media today is worse than any Yellow Journalism at the turn of the twentieth century. Our freedoms will dissappear and we won't even know it.

That's what was meant when I said blaming the media. Newsweek calls him "like a god", CNBC says rainbows appear around him when he speaks. What is going on here?!? Who knows, maybe all this will backfire on them, but that's what I thought in the 2008 election and was proven wrong.
Dont forget that to liberals the Constitution is a living document. Somewhere in that 220+ tear old document is the right to an abortion, gay marriage, and universal health care though for the life of my I cant find them. They are in there though, ask any liberal. To a liberal the Constitution can say whatever they want it to say. Clinton even debated the meaning of the word “is”. You can claim the Constitution protects your speech as they drag you off to mandatory sensitivity/reeducation camps.
Did you guys see the Michelle Obama photos on Drudge? I am not entirely sure what it means but I'm guessing that such plants just aren't supposed to grow that fast….meaning they had someone come in and insert mature plants in the garden??
I saw it. I was thinking maybe it just proves that Obama really does have supernatural powers. 😀 It looks like lettuce. Lettuce does grow fast, but I don't think it grows THAT fast.
I saw it but did not pay much attention to it. It strikes that the media is trying to make her into the next version of Jackie Onassis. If they are successful then they will have demonstrated the power of the modern media.BTW, the German media mentioned Obama vs the Fly but only to make fun of the American press. The big news over here is Iran and German university reform that will make more college students pay tuition. Students in Munich shouted down the Bavarian Culture Minister today and he walked off the stage telling them that when they wanted to discuss there problmes like adults he will gladly meet with a deputation, until then any changes are off the table.
Assuming what Drudge is suggesting is true (and it's hard to tell for sure at this point), it means that someone probably replanted mature plants in place of the younger plants. While this is no big deal in itself, it seems to echo the pattern of Obama finely-honing his image to create a controlled perception by the public.
