Lo and behold, Skiguy can walk out his back door and get the low down for us on what's going on here. Mysterious rock piles possibly of American Indian burial mounds in Rhode Island, but perhaps just leftovers of early Euro-settlements in the area. Tension now rises as a developer wants to construct on or near that area. Who will prevail? Stories like this make me want to live in a place like Rhode Island. If I had some land I would definitely buy myself a metal detector and begin a search. The area that is in dispute in the story I mention above was the locale of King Philip's War, a battle between early Europeans and native Indians in the 1600s. I would be fascinated to search for artifacts in wooded lots that time has forgotten. Perhaps a field trip to Skiguy's neck of the woods is in order. 🙂

Sounds like a lot of fun. When do we disembark? 😀
skiguyModeratorThe war here decided who was going to run this country
Is this why I have Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse in Congress? 😮 😀Seriously, Wilfred Greene seems to be exaggerating a little, wouldn't you say?Should go check this out, so come on down! But there are a lot of piles of rocks all over the place, and a lot of old stone walls.
