As if things could not get any worse, out comes this story about how someone at the IRS apparently leaked confidential information about the National Organization for Marriage to a gay activist. One would think that such an action would be pretty egregious and potentially result in a criminal sentence. Instead, the IRS gets off with a $50,000 fine (ultimately coming out of the taxpayers' pockets). Oh, and about that potential leaker in the IRS who gave out the information? The Department of Justice decided not to investigate. This has to be the worse Department of Justice in my lifetime, and Eric Holder has done so horribly that it's not even funny any more. He'll look into the case of George Zimmerman - a state matter already handled in state court - and not look into the leaking of information from an executive agency? This is downright ridiculous. Cannot wait until Obama leaves office.
Would it not properly be the Department of Injustice?
Funny….I wrote “Department of Injustice” in the title at first before I changed it. I remember how many people unloaded on John Ashcroft and Albert Gonzalez when they served as AG for Bush, but I don't really hear many grievances voiced in the media about Eric Holder. Bill O'Reilly at least has been chronicling Holder's actions and had a good piece on it yesterday.I get the feeling that Obama believes that the ends justifies the means when it comes to politics. It's sad, really.
