I do not know if I have ever watched an entire episode of Oprah, but I must admit that her influence in pop culture over the past several decades has been impressive. Oprah Winfrey: 10 moments that made herI remember when this happened a while back:

I remember that right after the episode aired, the local news channel led its news coverage with Oprah's weight loss, making it seem like a legitimate, newsworthy even. Then I recall how she gained the weight back, lost it, and continued with her up-and-down weight.
