ParticipantHey WCF'ers, I have started a video sharing website like YouTube over at http://www.rifletube.com I have categories for History and Education/lectures. If you want to upload videos of lectures, historical clips and documentaries, (with permission of course), please do. We need content, and my gun auction members will probably appreciate the information you share. Thanks. 😀

KeymasterI was thinking that if I take any video of the RNC protests or whatnot over the next few days I can post it on rifletube.com. I'd just have to find a camera first.

That would be great! Take some photos and do a slide show if nothing else. You have a great opportunity to share history. 🙂

ParticipantGreat vids Phid! Thanks for sharing those pieces of history. I especially like Giuliani getting grilled by Matthews and he's just laughing at it. LOL

KeymasterHey, no problem. Not much else went on when I was there. Apparently the protests and police action went on later that day, especially in the evening (I had to go to class). On Monday the anarchists had come down one of the streets in downtown St. Paul not far from the park and smashed windows and did damage. Yesterday, I think the cops basically kept them from coming downtown.

ParticipantI'm probably going to start a lecture on proper historical writing techniques. I'll have to do that in a several part series, but it will be fun and hopefully informative.

KeymasterI think you could also teach areas of history if you wanted to…..something like “American history in a nutshell”….break it into 15 minutes sessions covering different topics. There's a lot of potential for a video sharing web site out there.

ParticipantIndeed. A series on the Great Awakening would be rather awesome. But I should also concentrate on key lessons such as causes of the Civil War, key events of the Cold War, and maybe even more current events like the Persian Gulf War etc…

KeymasterIf you do something on the Great Awakening that high school or college kids can understand I can embed it on my great-awakening.com site. I'm going to revamp the site one of these days and I think putting a video from you on talking about different aspects would be a good addition. Talk to me if you're interested….I have an idea as to how it could be done.

I think I'll probably use most of my thesis for the lecture, and it would be a nice project.
