KeymasterWhen I turned guest posting on I figured it might increase. Since guests from CL seem to have stopped posting anyway, I guess I'll just turn it off.

ParticipantGood move Phid. Make folks register. This forum doesn't need strays, but Fit2BThaied needs to register here first.

KeymasterI'm not sure why the spamming via registration has increased. But I do like your response:
Unless these items are made in Egypt or Asia Minor this is a SPAM posting... go somewhere else.

KeymasterI always liked…"spammers frighten easily but they'll be back, and in greater numbers."

ParticipantYou know it took me a while to figure out that was a Star Wars reference. ;D

KeymasterIt may be easier to detect in person, especially if I can say it in that slight English accent of Sir Alec Guinness.

ParticipantSpeaking of Sir Alec..I am recording Bridge over the river Kwai in the next couple of days, I've never seen it.

KeymasterI have heard it is good…I believe it ranked as one of the top movies of all time.

ParticipantIt is in AFI's top 100. I downloaded there list and checked off all the ones I have already seen and am now trying to work through all of them. There are a few I dont look forward to, A few I have seen and wondered why they were on the list at all.

Participant.... There are a few I dont look forward to, A few I have seen and wondered why they were on the list at all.
Might have more to do with someones and their political agenda than artistic values?

KeymasterI thought, though, that the AFI list was fairly good. At least I recall seeing the list (when it was released some years ago) and I too looked through it and I think I tried watching some of the movies there that I might not otherwise see. There were movies such as Bonnie & Clyde and some others that I saw. I can't remember which ones, though.

ParticipantThey just updated the list (tenth anniverary) a few months ago. There were 18 new movies that wernt on the list the first time around. A few Charlie Chaplin movies were added. and of course a few that had come out since the last list. They also have a list of the 400 hundred movies that were considered. Have any of you ever seen a movie called 'A Face in the Crowd' with Andy Griffith? An absolutly brilliant movie that should have made the list.
