ParticipantHas anybody had this yet? My son got it from his best friend last week and shared it with me yesterday. 🙁 I have to say that it is as lousy as the news has made it out to be. It is about 4 times as miserable as the normal flu. It is running wild over here, quite a few of our friends either have it now or have had it already and a couple have ended up in the hospital. Luckily we don't know anyone who has died from it yet and hope it stays that way. Ironically, I was supposed to get my immunization against it today9 my wife got hers last week after I nagged her about it), guess it is too late for me now. Hope the rest of you guys can avoid this little bit of misery.

ModeratorWow. Hope you feel better soon. A guy at work had it two weeks ago, but no one else. Family is safe so far. Only one I worried most about was my 3 yr old granddaughter, but she had her shots already.

ParticipantBased on the reports of the symptoms and result I am pretty sure it is what I had back in '79 (I'm in the group that is supposed to have immunities)… seems logical, as scout's report sounds just like it. Sorry Pard, it's nasty. You will feel better in a few days though.Hope the way this has been handled won't be a preview of the new health care plan... expected better after the debacle with the regular flu awhile back. Seems like it doesn't matter who runs the show they can't get it together.

ParticipantThe swine flue is a lab created strain I'm sure of it. So it's supposed to be out there causing havoc by design. Probably so the big pharma companies can make a buck or two off the vaccines and the government can implement universal healthcare after everybody gets scared over the pandemic.

Have you read Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six? Not exactly what you describe but vaguely similar.I haven't gotten swine flu, and hope I don't. I've been taking regular Vitamin D....not that it would prevent anything completely, but may act as a mild preventative.

ParticipantWe all seem to be on the mend. My wife is up for getting it next, although we hope her immunization kicks in and she can avoid it. Thanks for the thoughts.
