Have any of you used Evernote? It's a free program used to organize pdfs, notes, web clippings, etc. I think I tried it out briefly some years ago and didn't find a great need for it, but I am going to take a second look.
Nope. I'm not sure why you would need it?
Is it similar to Microsoft's OneNote? If it is, I wouldn't touch it. I tried OneNote and hated it. I find it better to just have a stack of printouts on my desk. Maybe I am just too old school. 😀
It is similar to Microsoft Onenote, but as I was told it's different in because Onenote is more like a “scrapbook” than Evernote. I have also used Onenote and I like it, but I have run into a few problems with it. Since Evernote is free, I can use it on all my devices (desktop, iPad, phone).

For keeping track of documents, web sites, etc. to help me in research. At least one of the versions allows you to search PDFs for content from one location, which is helpful if you are looking for a specific word in dozens of journal articles saved on your computer. (yes, I realize this can also be done directly on my desktop as well)
I like computers for writing but am a Luddite when it comes to putting my research together. I have even been know to print off large sections of websites rather than refer to links.
I compile .pdf's onto travel drives and CD's. The Kindle I bought is also going to be used for such purposes. Evernote might be useful, I don't know, I might try it to see.
