Here are some photos of an abandoned WWII bunker from New Jersey. http://www.artificialowl.net/2008/10/abandoned-cape-may-giant-concrete-ww2.htmlBTW, that site I linked to above is pretty awesome for other photos of abandoned buildings and machines. Cool things include this abandoned Soviet plane, this abandoned English train station, this NASA trailer, the AMARC plane graveyard, and this cool abandoned castle in New York.
Very interesting site. You just caused me to waste 45 minutes of my life. ;D
Here's a page with interesting “accoustic mirrors” in the UK that have long been abandoned. They must have been built after recognizing the thread of incoming aircraft, but according to the page they became irrelevant once radar could do the same job.http://www.artificialowl.net/2009/03/abandoned-acoustic-mirrors-denge-uk.html

You did it again. ;D ;D
Glad to be of help. 😉 Actually, I'm fascinated by the fact that these structures – which were once the subject of considerable planning and resources – are now forgotten by time. It's amazing how what was once so “new” is now so “old”.

What is amazing to me is that it took such a short time for these structures to be considered so "old"
