The Norway bombing has brought renewed focus on the Knights Templar. How did the medieval Knights Templar influence Norway gunman?I think I know where this could be headed.  The Knights Templar, mentioned in the same breath as an “anti-Islamic extremist”, will effectively be brushed into a corner of “extremist” history over time.  The Knights could very well be reduced to a group or ideology based on “racial purity” in the eyes of the public and media.

Why the Knights Templar ?They were closely linked with the crusades; fighting muslims in the Holy LandThey became powerful in both fighting units and with a large economic infrastructureThey were “victims of a conspiracy” led by the State (King Philip IV of France) and by the Church (French Pope Clement V)They cursed their “inside” enemiesThey supposedly had a huge hoard hidden somewhere…They were used by Freemasonry which has incorporated Templar symbols and rituals in a number of Masonic bodies, most notably, the “Order of the Temple”They were later “romanticized” in popular culture and “have become associated with legends concerning secrets and mysteries” (Da Vinci code, Indiana Jones, etc)Do you see other reasons ?

The reason is obvious : the modern bikini was introduced by French engineer Louis Réard and fashion designer Jacques Heim in Paris in 1946 only.    ;)Just a lil bit later on the opposite side of the ocean tho: “The bathing beauty queen…blond Bebe Shopp, 18, of Hopkins, Minn…got an enthusiastic welcome in Paris, but she said she hasn't changed her mind about French swim suits. … 'I don't approve of Bikini suits for American girls,' Bebe told her French interviewers. 'The French girls can wear them if they want to, but I still don't approve of them on American girls.” Los Angeles Times 1949.

I'd say yes, it can be completed.  Even if this is happening years after the initial work, following Michelangelo's project, the completion shall respect what was planned at the time.  Even if few sketches and a wood model are all that remain of Michelangelo’s 500-year-old plans, there will certainly be a scrupulous board to supervise the work. When you look at the unfinished facade, there is no obvious reason (aesthetic, historic) to keep it like that. Other buildings were often completed throughout centuries; the cathedral of Koln being a famous example.”But Anna Hudson, an art history professor at York University, said completing the façade would change the church’s relationship with its parishioners and local residents.“I don't think there will be many PTSD among the population; except for few “purists” maybe.

When I was a kid, I remember enjoying spinach mainly because of Popeye.  :'(According to this source, at first, iron wasn't the reason for his strength Segar chose and promoted spinach for its vitamin A content alone.http://www.internetjournalofcriminology.com/Sutton_Spinach_Iron_and_Popeye_March_2010.pdf

How in the heck did a song composed to commemorate Russian victory against Napoleon become such an iconic American 4th of July song?

For its climactic volley of cannon fire and ringing chimes  8)

By the way, I also added the “Google +1” button to the forum.  It is automatically inserted in the first post in every topic (located on the right side, actually quite small and nonintrusive).  Feel free to click on it if you feel a topic deserves it.  I think that the more times it is clicked, the higher the topic will show in Google search results.

Right but do you need to get a google account ? When I tried that's what happened
