Would you sacrifice one of your historical sites (the White House, Lincoln memorial, Library of Congress, and few more old stones) in order to save or protect your values ?Your example (Monte Cassino) is a good case-study. That this is happening in Libya or everywhere else doesnt matter.  I'm with Omer on this one

Amazing. Almost intact after so many years, that's so surprising and very interesting.

A book has come out in which the author asserts the Smurfs are “the embodiment of a totalitarian utopia, steeped in Stalinism and Nazism”.  See video.

There is a gap, due to history and time: America was first settled by people who couldn't stand Europe anymore, for religious or political reasons. I don't know if this can axplain that

I can't cite sources proving it was a custom or a fable.  But in my readings it seems to be something widely accepted as being the practice of the times.

Legends can be found in many books. The problem about Prima Nocta is its historical relevance if you consider how separated were the social classes during the Middle Age.  The Lord of the Manor honouring all the villain's brides ? Not surprising that he would hastily join any crusade nearby …  😉

Maybe because Geronimo had nothing to do with Bin Laden, it was the most secure code !?

May 1, 1889.  The first of May is designated “International Workers Day,” in commemoration of Chicago's Haymarket riots of 1886. The new holiday is actually an appropriation of the banned Beltane (Day of Fire), or May Day, traditionally celebrated by encircling a phallic maypole with delectable fertile virgins.
