Some interesting ruins indeed ! 😉So what's your point ??The Romans ruled most of the Western world but what did they create that was not looted from the Greeks or other nations they conquered? They even could use democracy (Republic) but instead chose authoritarianism! 8)
Colonialism and imperialism do not explain the Wilsonian push for ethnic self-determination, both are intrinsically opposed to the idea. try again please. ;D And further, colonialism and imperialism are not the source of all evil in the world.Also notice I did not claim Obama's election was illegitimate but that in my opinion the majority of the American electorate are idiots for voting in such an idealist. The Revolution culminated in the territorial elections of 1954 where the reign of the Hawaii Republican Party in the legislature came to an abrupt end, as they were voted out of office to be replaced by members of the Democratic Party of Hawaii. The strikes by the Isles' labor workers demanded similar pay and benefits to their Mainland counter-parts. The strikes also crippled the power of the sugar plantations and the Big Five Oligopoly* over their workers.*The Big Five Oligopoly name given to a group of former sugarcane processing corporations that wielded considerable political power in the Territory of Hawaiʻi and leaned heavily towards the Hawaii Republican Party. The Romans were quite pragmatic, using what they could find from people they subjugated. If you check what the Romans brought to History, it's mainly about politics. Not much about Art or Philosophy. Even about Christianity, they proved to be opportunist.Except politics (even if politics is an Art), what did the Romans really bring ?
The British lost the Dardanelles campaign because their planning was poor and the commander was an idiot. One look at the terrain tells you that they should have never invaded at the tip of the peninsula. Lack of munitions had nothing to do with it. I think you are talking about the artillery shortages of 1915.

This is scary stuff, bevause those that disagree with GW are demonized just like those that opposed Hitler and Stalin were demonized. In the minds of the GW crowd there is only one right answer. How long until they start calling people traitors for not toeing the party line?

The Visigoths essentially foisted themselves on Rome, we invited them in with open arms in a fit of stupidity after WWII. The root of the problem lies in the primacy of ethnic factors in the geopolitics of the early 20th century. We are now paying the price for the misguided idealism of Lloyd George, Wilson, and Poincare who bought the line that nations should be based on ethnicity in 1918, although I lay most of the blame on Wilson who was a complete idiot. Apparently the American electorate hasn't figured it out yet because they voted Obama in last year and he is cut from the same idealistic cloth. The Nazis thought ethnicity determined nationality too.
