would posit that much more good has come out of Christianity than Islam, and we can go
Thats a really odd statement. Shouldn't religious success be based on a feeling the person has about their relationship with their religion only? No religion does good, its people do good. People without religion do good too. But a religion did not create this country (America), People did.
Book: “Union 1812”Author: AJ LangguthQuote: "Livingston administered the oath of office to the first president, and at its conclusion Washington said "I solemnly swear, etc" "So help me God" With that, Washington bent forward and kissed the Bible on which he had be sworn"I just read that, thought it was interesting.
Well thats good to know!I was getting worried that hackers seemed to target history forums! The motorcycle forums Ive seen are all run completely independently, so I was starting to fear that history forum types were a cyber roaming bunch who never settled on one community.I am not a history professor, teacher, or student. I am a mechanical engineer who enjoys history as well as other things. I don't know how much I can bring to the table, but it is certainly interesting reading some of these conversations.
What happened to this site?Is it down for good?In general, why is it that I am finding so many mismanaged or hacked history forums? As a hobby I am into motorcycles and I seem to be able find an overabundance of motorcycle related forums that don't have any problems. Why are history forums always getting hacked or otherwise become a ghost town? Thanks
Why does everyone leave John Adams out? From what I understand, while Franklin worked on getting French support, he actually worked very little. John Adams had to prod Franklin along. Besides French support, we also needed financing. We got a lot of this financing from the Netherlands where Adams went alone to do this and succeeded. Without this, the war might not have been won. He also was smart enough to not get involved with the French Revolution while we were still a very young nation. While Franklin was a schmoozer, it sounds to me like Adams was the workhorse. He also already had an intelligent constitution for his state of Mass. resembling much of what the country eventually adopted. He was also the last president of the US that tried to be completely unbiased. There is no correct answer to this question, but atleast include John Adams on the list, he was a very great man.
