The Pope is at a minimum a crappy messenger.  He did it yet again: Pope attacks global economics for worshipping 'god of money'Either he is doing this stuff on purpose or he is as simple as he would have us believe.  Either way he is unfit to be Pope in my opinion.

If the message is being distorted it is being distorted in the German media too.  I live in Bavaria, 70% Catholic, and people around here are saying the same thing I am.

I get the impression the pope is deliberately trying to liberalize the church to make it more appealing to less conservative people.  In my mind he is the equivalent of those in the “Constitution as living document” crowd that think they can weasel their way around issues by appealing to changing times and mores.  I don't doubt that he is a sincere man of faith.  I do doubt however whether he is the right man to be Pope.  Unfortunately, the pope is elected by men and men are fallible.  I increasingly fear that selecting Francis was a huge mistake as it will tend to tear the church apart if he continues down his apparent path of liberalization.  It is said you know your true friends not by who is with you in good times but who is with in bad.  The church is similar in my view, you can know the true faithful by seeing who has stuck by the church and faith in the good times.  Does it help anything if he liberalizes the church to attract all the “part-time” Catholics and others who were turned off by the doctrine of the previous 2,000 years?  Liberalization is not growing and outreach, it is watering down doctrine. These further statements by the Pope just deepen my worries about where the church is headed.  What is next, a decision that the Sacraments are open to non-Catholics and an individual state of grace does not matter, only repentance matters?  I can see that one coming.  The Pope sounds an awful lot like a Pelosi/Biden Catholic right now, say one thing and do another. The English translation of the complete interview can be found here: A Big Heart Open to GodStories like the following are part of why I think the way I do: Liberals take heart from Pope Francis’ ‘home for all’ remarksThe Pope ain't stupid and you can't tell me he does not know what reaction his remarks will bring. Of course he knows just as benedict did when he quoted the Byzantine Emperor in regards to Islam in Regensberg several years ago.

The potential abuse of data by government is the best argument for shrinking government there is.  The problem is that if something can be done, it will be done, or is already being done. What happens when the treasure of data is used to target political opponents?  What happens when personal data of a non-business nature is used for denial of employment or employment termination?  I did not used to be so onboard with the privacy campaigners but the more I think about the issue the more I agree with them.  There are some things and some data that companies and the government simply should not be able to collect period.  I think the loss of privacy in the digital age is the biggest threat to Liberty since Lenin declared the establishment of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

Tchaikovsky and Wagner mostly although I do listen to some Mozart on occasion.  I am still trying to get tickets for the Bayreuther Festspiel they do every year where they put on Wagner's Ring of the Nibelungen.  It usually sells out super quick though.

Yeah, I got 13 points riding on that game myself.  What killed me was Wisconsin and Utah getting beat.  I had 14 and 19 points on those two games.

My problem is I don't give the proper number of confidence points or I would be dominating this game.

Heck, I aint even worried about that.  Look at all the ones who are in Europe already and their birthrate.  They will outbreed Europeans in a generation or two at which point full-on Dhimmitude awaits.  Hopefully I will be dead before that happens.  What happens in Europe will happen in the US too, mark my words.  We should be begging latinos to come in.  I will take a boatload of Christian cnetral and south Aaericans over a single Muslim, every day of the week.  At least we both pray to the same God.

Speaking of the IRS Scandal, the Washington Times will not let the story die.  They have a pretty steady driblle of articles coming out following the path of the ongoing Congressional Investigation.  There have not been any bombshells recently and the MSM is doing their best to ignore it.  Here is the latest: Emails show IRS’ Lois Lerner specifically targeted tea party

I don't know what he is at this point.  I just know he says a lot of things that kind of stick in my craw.  Maybe I should go to one of the fundamentalist Catholic sects that reject Vatican II.

I am sad now because OU did not make the pick list this week.I fully expect Alabama to destroy A&M and not only because the Aggies bounced from the Big 12 in a fit of pique.
