scout1067Participant
As requested here is my picture of me and a Belgian beer. Now it is up to the rest of you guys.
scout1067ParticipantI am particularly impressed by the values you both incarnate regarding our wager: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal courage.I respectfully salute your sacrifice : hats off, Messieurs! A votre santé! ::)
You do realize of course that Army Values, which you quote, combine for a bastardized version of leadership right?
scout1067ParticipantIs that a nudge-nudge-wink-wink reference to Game of Thrones?
Yes, yes it is. While I think Game of Thrones is a great show and have read all the books, I also think they overdo the nudity, sex, and violence. If it serves the story that is fine but much of the nudity seems gratuitous to me. There ain't even that much nudity in the books and there is hardly any sex in the books.
scout1067ParticipantMy picture will be posted shortly. Phid is right. It is not much trouble to lose a wager like this because the price of losing is almost a reward in itself.
scout1067ParticipantThey expect the Panzer IV from Littlefield's collection to go for up to $2.5 million. There is a video interview with the head of the foundation that inherited the collection on Bloomberg.
scout1067ParticipantI just got done watching first season, it is a great show. I really like that it tells a good story without naked people prancing around all the time or being super explicit with the violence.
scout1067ParticipantAgree with Donnie on this one. The Civil War was a forlorn hope from almost the beginning. If the South did not land a knockout blow the first year it was just a matter of time. The South's only hope was always to bring the North to the table and negotiate a peace and that was not going to happen with Lincoln in the White House.
scout1067ParticipantWould it not properly be the Department of Injustice?
scout1067ParticipantThen perhaps you read the adolescent fictional book Leviathan by Westerfeld...
Why, yes, yes I have. But then I read lots of books. I am usually reading at least three books at any given time.
scout1067ParticipantI don't know. I could not watch the game because I was at work. Most of the Germans I talk to hoped for a tie, which would guarantee both would advance. I wanted the US to win just for the bragging rights. I guess that is out of the window now though.
scout1067ParticipantActually, I have. There was a better one printed during the war by one of the London papers but I cannot find the image.
scout1067ParticipantWe call them them Crawdads in the south.
scout1067ParticipantI expect Belgium to reach at least the quarterfinals if not the semi-finals.
scout1067ParticipantThe more I watch soccer the more I am convinced that many, if not most, games are fixed. Too often it happens that the “favorite” is pulled out at the last minute by a foul that the Ref just does not call or they let the game continue even after regulation and extra time has elapsed.
scout1067ParticipantThe Great Lakes forts were mainly built to stop incursions from Canada. Any help in Indian Suppression was a secondary concern at best.
