    Who served as France's Prime/Chief Minister during the Fronde era?

    Who cares?  Never heard of Fronde or his era.  I suppose he did something almost remarkable?

    I support you, he wasn't really that important in the whole picture of history. You can say that about a lot of people.France faced exhaustion after years of rising taxes and revolts. In 1642, Cardinal Richelieu died and Louis XIII followed him. Louis XIV came in at age 5. An Austrian queen mother (Anne of Austria) served as his regent along with an Italian cardinal, Mazarin(the answer). French politics once again moved into a period of instability, rumor, and crisis.

    That was a tough one.  I would have had no idea without looking, which would have defeated the purpose of the trivia nature of the question.  :-[

    Cardinal Richilieu was probably the most important figure you mentioned bulldog…that and Louis the XIV (The Sun King).  The main thing to study during this period is the idea of divine right of kings and the later reactions to it.
