Home › Forums › Early America › Rhode Islanders will vote to rename state
At least this is going to a public vote rather than the RI Congress deciding it for everyone. The 'politically correct' fools want to rename "The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" to just "The State of Rhode Island" because the word plantations "conjures up images of the slave trade." I guess the fact that 'plantations' here simply means FARM doesn't mean a thing to the PC crowd. Can't wait for the voting results!!Link
We(Massachusetts) told you all to stop listening to Patrick Kennedy!
Cool; I'm thinking of starting a campaign to rename California. It'll be multiple a choice ballot… a) Mexifornia b) The People's Republic of California c) Kalifornia d) Caffinefornia e) The State ChaosThis should offend just about everyone; perhaps they'll all move somewhere else and we can get back to being the Golden State rather than the pyrite copy we've become.[/rant mode]
I got such a great laugh out of that that you just made my week. The PC crowd is now even attacking the names of the units of Government/ PRICELESS!!! ;D ;D ;D
Anybody know any good mediums? Why not conjure up the spirit of Roger Williams and see what his take is? I bet he would be mortified to see what his creation has become along with the rest of this nation.
