What was the name of the place where they acquired the granite for the Pantheon?
Hum. No idea, but good question. Are we allowed to look it up?
Only if you haven't taken architecture classes. 😀 Just kidding, yes you can look it up.
Egypt, according to my search.

Alex, what is “Mons Claudianus”?http://www.monolithic.com/stories/the-pantheon-rome-126-ad
That is absolutely correct!
Hadrian had these columns quarried at Mons Claudianus in Egypt?s eastern mountains, dragged on wooden sledges to the Nile, floated by barge to Alexandria, and put on vessels for a trip across the Mediterranean to the Roman port of Ostia. From there the columns were barged up the Tiber.
Which was approximately a 2,000 mile journey I think. Also, Mons Claudianus was owned directly by the Empire, not contracted out, so the laborers and artisans were paid better than average. ("The Amount of Wages Paid to the Quarry-Workers at Mons Claudianus" by Helene Cuvigny. http://www.jstor.org/stable/300426?origin=JSTOR-pdf)I just find this kind of stuff very interesting because I'm a nerd.
