How many of you have used things you've read on this forum in another discussion or class? I know specifically of two when I've used things that Scout has brought up. One was when he changed the Wikipedia entry on Charlemagne to say that he was a black guy, and more recently his comment about how historical recreation groups make a bigger statement about themselves than they do about actual people through history. Anyone else?
Very often.
I have as well.
Me too.
Anything…more…specific??? 😉
Specifically, I've used many of the links posted here as well as some of the opinions and summations. It's given me ideas for papers…not necessarily just the topic of the thread itself but also what was said in the conversation. And the tips given here by just about everyone have been very helpful. Also, my arguments with scout have helped me learn how to strenghten my own arguments whether I was writing about something we argued over or not. ;D Thanks, guys!
I have used some of the debates we have here as examples in conversations and debates I have with people at work and friends. Especially when we start talking politics.
I wish this place had been here for me when I was an undergrad. But at least it is here now for the newbies who are shell shocked by the demands of their professors.
Welcome back Don. 🙂 Long time, no see.
Thanks, I've been lurking. I never stray too far from this board. 😉
