Saw this story on CNN.com today, Report: Consumerism must be halted to save the planet. How long until the environmetalists convince enough people that they have to take control to “save the planet”. The way these people self-righteously make their claims is probably the scariest thing about them. I sometimes seriously wonder if they would sanction environmental police to and laws to punish people for committing sundry environmental sins like not not a sufficiently sustainable lifestyle. A scary thought at the least. I start to think that if they cant coinvince us to change our evil ways voluntarily that some of them would be more than happy to do so at the end of a gun.There is nothing worse than a zealot, of any stripe.
Case in point how the modern eco-movement is joined at the hip with socialism. This is why it is so dangerous.
This kind of claim is in line with the people last year that advocated euthanasia as a means of controlling the carbon output of the elderly and infirm. It is kind of shades of Nazism/Communism. The ironic part is the left calls conservatives fascists yet they are the ones putting c**p like this out.
