I'm just curious here. I'm almost finished with a bottle of Kentucky bourbon that my sister and brother-in-law got me for Christmas. It's their favorite type (they live in KY) but it always seems like it's hard going down.
I don't think you can beat a good Canadian Blended Whiskey. My personal Favorite is Crown Royal, Straight or mixed with coke.
Irish. Or any good single malt Scotch. (Must be my Scots-Irish side peeking through)

Too true. I actually prefer different drinks for different contexts; single-malt for sipping straight, Irish whisky for drinking with a bit of water, and bourbon or blended whisky for use in a cocktail.
Scotch and not even close. The only blend I enjoy is Chivas and I'm not that familiar with bourbons except jack and jim and I can only drink Gentleman Jack.
