I can understand the nuisance of having to walk through a mine field of dog poop. This condo is free to do what it wants, but this seems like overkill:
All dogs in the building would be swabbed for DNA testing, under a proposal by the condo board, according to The Baltimore Sun. Dog owners would pay $50 per pup, covering the costs of tests and supplies, and an additional $10 per month for the cost of having building staff scoop the poop.
How DNA Profiling WorksA 2002 study of accuracy of DNA laboratories in the United States conducted by the University of Texas showed that 1 in 100 profiles may give a false result.http://science.howstuffworks.com/dna-profiling4.htm
If building staff are cleaning up the mess, what is the point of DNA testing. I would gladly pay somebody to pick up my dog's mess. Luckily, I don't have to right now because my son does it as part of the deal for getting a dog. ;D I will have to do it when he leaves the house though, my wife certainly wont, what does she have a husdband for right?
