    A new theory on the matter states that Hess was lured to Britain by an intermediary (at the behest of MI6), giving Hess hope that a German-British alliance could be forged.Rudolf Hess 'was lured to Britain by MI6 plot'

    I dont know how new that theory is.  It has been around for at least 20 years since I was in High School.  I also would not put much faith in it, at least no more faith in it than the idea that the CIA had JFK killed.

    The general theory could be similar to other ones.  The article indicates that the particular set of underlying events in support of this particular one is new.  The author who is alleging this has a book out – Rudolf Hess: The British Illusion of Peace.

    Conspiracy sells books though, I guess.  How many books have been written about Roswell or the Kennedy Assassination?

    Why Hess was the last one to be confined in that prison until death ? Just because he was a lunatic ?
