According to this story, a Roman mosaic floor dating to around 350 A.D. was found on an Englishman's farm while he was building a road back in 2001. However, I'm guessing that because he doesn't have the money to make a proper covering for it, he had to leave it as is and recover it with dirt. Just recently he temporarily uncovered part of it on the 10th anniversary of the find. How cool would that be to have such a mosaic on your property? The mosaic is pretty large – 40' x 21' – and so it sounds like it is a significant find. Too bad they can't uncover the whole thing permanently.
