Apparently Egyptian protesters burned down the Cairo Institute, one of the countries largest libraries recently. Thousands of irreplacable manuscripts and publications were destroyed or severely damaged.I guess that protesters in Egypt are about as anti-intellectual a the Occupy guys in the US seem to be. I just don;t understand how this even happened. The article paints it as a mistake, that is a heck of a mistake huh?
This supports the argument that antiquities are better off in the hands of richer nations than poorer ones. The ongoing controversy over the Elgin marbles is perhaps the most prominent case which asks the question about where antiquities should be kept, but there are others. Nations which do not have secure forms of government are more prone to having the kind of disaster we see in Egypt.

I have to agree with you 100% but the tranzis just cannot have that. They see it as the west just trying to continue colonialism and cultural rapine.
