http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/9929996/Violin-played-on-Titanic-revealed-for-first-time.htmlThis is the violin played by the band while the Titanic was sinking. Interesting story on how it was found.
“Within minutes of Titanic striking an iceberg on April 14, 1912, Hartley was instructed to assemble the band and play music in order to maintain calm. The eight musicians gallantly performed on the chilly boat deck of the Titanic while the passengers lined up for the lifeboats."How would you have liked that job.
That is an interesting story. TH image of the band playing on the deck as the ship goes down is indeed iconic.I like even better all the commenter whining that the violin belongs to mankind and should be put in a museum but instead some guy is just making a buck off of it.
