KeymasterI'm wondering if anyone has seen any notices on their computer about viruses or Trojan Horses when visiting this site. If you have seen such notices, please give me the time you saw it, what browser you're using, and what the path of the file is (such as “C:Documents and SettingsCompaq_OwnerLocal SettingsTempTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5…”). Thanks for any help.

ModeratorAs you know, it happened on my work computer. I'll check the virus history tomorrow and let you know the filename. (I deleted the file from the quarantine folder….so the computer guy wouldn't see it )

ParticipantStrangley I did. But I didnt think it came from here (but Norton did pop up right after I closed out from a visit) I dont remember the time though. I know it was yesterday evening. I am using IE6. I will see what els I can find out. Maybe Norton has some log I can look at.

KeymasterLet me just clarify that there's not necessarily anything wrong with the site. I installed a patch to secure a security hole yesterday. However, if there's a commonality that can be found I'd like to explore it. So far I haven't found anything out of the ordinary on the server.

ModeratorSorry for the tilde. The virus program does not give whole filename. The one from yesterday was IN552D~1.htm (path was /local/temp/content.IE5/) and I even had one quarantined from last week c:/system.exe.So far so good today. Using IE6, Windows XP.

KeymasterSkiguy, thanks for the info. You should be able to check in the Norton log to find more information. I wonder if this is just a false positive, meaning it's a mistaken security alert. Read the following thread and tell me if it's similar to what you have been experiencing:http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t197027-how-does-downloader-trojan-virus-infect-from-a-webpage.html

KeymasterAnd it's only showing up when you go to this site?

ModeratorPhid, the log is stored on my administrator's computer so I couldn't get to it. Those links you gave, none of them look familiar at all. It did look like something happened to a system file.I cleaned my cookies, temp files, and history, went on today (at work) and it was OK. It better not be one of these google spiders that are here all the time. If that's the case, I'll use extra strength Raid on them! 😡

The last three times it has showed was during or right after a visit. Norton takes care of it. And I have had no ill affects from it.
