I don't know if this is really a “history” subject, but…Why is the media so Left wing and when did it start being that way? Did the Viet Nam war, a la Walter Kronkite, start all this? Or was this happening before? Is it all about ratings or is there some other agenda or is it just the way people in general are now (negative, no patience, self-centered, etc)?
I dint really know a whole lot about this, but arnt many of the 'owners' of these large media conglomerates, like NY times and others left wingers? What ever their agenda is, so goes the rag.
Sounds like a discussion of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst is in order. See this:
As Martin Lee and Norman Solomon noted in their 1990 book Unreliable Sources, Hearst "routinely invented sensational stories, faked interviews, ran phony pictures and distorted real events."
Quote from Wicki.:"The 1941 Orson Welles' film Citizen Kane was based in part on the life of Hearst, who offered RKO Pictures $800,000 to destroy all prints of the film and burn the negative."I am so glad they turned him down.
The MSM is still full of “Muckrakers” these days. Little has changed. See the Dan Rather forged documents story that was supposed to ruin Bush.
