How many of you knew that the CIA was involved in mind control through it's Project MKULTRA? Of note is that some gruesome experimentation was done on U.S. citizens.
“And the conspiracy theorists go wild!” It seems it's things like this that give fuel to the wild speculations about varoius incidents in history. I wonder ifthere is any thruth to the Sirhan Sirhan theory? I watched a program not too long ago and his statement is is that he doesnt remember a thing about that night.
If I recall LSD was first used for interrogating prisoners of war like a truth syrum or for brainwashing. LSD proved too unreliable and damaging to the pysche to be of much military benefit. Soldiers serving during the 1950's may have been subjected to LSD exposure by the military as guinea pigs. The pressures of the Cold War often made things get out of hand…especially when Joseph McCarthy was running around scaring the bejeezus out of people.
What's interesting about this, of course, is that it sounds so conspiratorial and yet is fact, and it therefore gives at least some circumstantial “proof” that other “sinister” programs might have been or be in development. I'm not necessarily one to jump on the bandwagon, but I can see how one theory can lead to another which can lead to another.
Using psychological tactics on a society or a militia is interesting. It is “sinister”, but the goal is a benefit too all. LSD wouldn't work to get a functioning society going, but if you spiked the insurgents with a mind alterating drug (other than the cocaine they are allegedly using now) they'd be easy to get.I wonder what other tactics they used and if we're still using some of them now.
