At my age, old time for me would mean Peanuts. I have never gotten much of a chance to read anything older than that. I do like the Farside and Calvin and Hobbes.

I always liked Family Circus. Especially when the cartoonist went on “vacation” and he'd use one of his kid characters as a fill in. 🙂

How about Snuffy Smith, Alley Oop, Major Hoople, Gasoline Alley? These were waining in the late 50's in my area. I still read Prince Valiant in the Sunday paper... Peanuts is still spot on.I agree with kudos to C&H and Farside; propose Dilbert and Pearls Before Swine as modern classics as well.Cheers,WallyPS: Nice to think about this rather than Turkish hackers and other such stuff.W

Dilbert is even funnier when you do work in an office…because so much of it is true!My favorite comics were Peanuts and Family Circle. I really identified with Linus!

I vote for Dilbert, too. It is so … true to life? Have we not all had bosses like that? Then comes Garfield, and his love of spiders.
