The defect joins a long list of ailments — including smallpox, heart illness and depression — that modern doctors have diagnosed in Lincoln.[/url]There seems to be a trend of using increasingly sophisticated techniques to explore history and uncover facts hidden throughout the ages.  This, of course, can greatly enhance our body of historical knowledge, but it can potentially lead to "reaching" for motives, causes, and conclusions - something which might be irresistable to modern ages in an attempt to revise history to support particular ideologies.  With this said, would you think it right or wrong to "psychoanalyze" Lincoln and his decisions based on his variety of health problems?
