A ship that sank in 1907 was recently discovered on the bottom of Lake Superior. The sinking of the Cyprus remains clouded in some mystery. You can read the story here:Century old shipwreck found in Superior Here was something interesting from the article:
The Great Lakes are littered with thousands of shipwrecks, but the Cyprus is among the more puzzling.
"Thousands of shipwrecks"?? This goes back to our discussion on the Edmund Fitzgerald - how does a ship sink in a lake, much less "thousands" of ships? Living in a state the borders one of the Great Lakes I realize that these are massive bodies of water. I can understand how smaller crafts would go down. How some of the larger ones sink is less evident.
Simple answer: The Great Lakes Triangle.
Here's a brief news clip on the find.http://www.wcco.com/video/?id=31045@wcco.dayport.com
