This is an interesting story to follow – another former Nazi guard in the United States, fighting deportation. The story says he was once deported to Israel on suspicion of being “Ivan the Terrible”, the notorious Nazi guard, but was released when it was discovered that the man was not Ivan. There's another hunt in South America:
If he is still alive, former SS medical officer Aribert Heim is 93 years old, but his age will not protect the alleged Nazi war criminal from justice, vows Nazi-hunter Efraim Zuroff.
Is the net tightening on Nazi 'Dr Death'?This one really has me wondering the point behind this all. It seems like it's an ideologically-driven hunt for people based on principles other than justice. Yes, if the man still is alive he did some atrocious things. I do have a problem, however, with spending all this time and resources on trying to bring human justice on someone who will likely pass on in the next few years anyway. Framing as a "race against time" just seems to miss the point....Justice prevails in the end anyway, regardless of our actions.
